Orthopaedic Surgeons specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of surgical and non-surgical problems of the musculoskeletal system, including bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves. That includes the treatment of fractures; sports injuries; wrist, hand, and back surgery; joint replacement of the hips, knees, and shoulders; bunion removal; foot and ankle problems; pediatric orthopaedics, etc. They concentrate their practice on straightening or correcting genetic or sustained skeletal abnormalities.
