About Us: What is Orthopaedics?

Orthopaedics is the branch of medicine dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of injuries and diseases affecting the body's musculoskeletal system. This system includes bones, joints, ligaments, muscles and nerves. An Orthopaedist is a surgeon who has completed four years of college, four years of medical school and at least five years of post medical school training. Orthopaedists treat a variety of medical conditions both surgical and non-surgical. At Strand Orthopaedics, our Board Certified / Board Eligible surgeons are specialized in treating: Fractures, Dislocations, Torn Ligaments, Sports Injuries, Bone and Joint Injuries, Spinal Disorders, Arthritis, Joint Replacement, Arthroscopy, Rehabilitation, Osteoporosis, Pediatric Disorders and Foot, Ankle and Hand Surgeries.
